Modelist 1.7: ZIP support and Dark Mode

v1.7 brings two long-requested features: work with ZIP files without ever extracting them, and a proper dark mode for comfortable sessions day or night. The v1.7.1 follow-up sharpens the everyday edges - collection-aware filtering, smarter app memory, and keyboard zoom.

New features

• ZIP File Support: Index and analyze ZIP files directly from your watched folders (enable in Settings → General).
  • Browse without extracting: View and manage 3D models inside ZIPs as if they were extracted - no manual unzipping.
  • Full preview support: Thumbnails and 3D previews for models inside ZIP files, just like regular files.
  • Open directly: Click to view in 3D or edit without worrying about extraction - Modelist handles it automatically.
  • Clean & tidy: Original ZIPs stay untouched and temporary files clean themselves up.
• Dark Mode: A proper dark theme for comfortable use in any lighting.
  • Easy toggle: Flip between light and dark from Settings.
  • Remembers your choice: Preference persists across restarts.
  • Transparent renders: Rendered images now use transparent backgrounds so they look right in both themes. Existing renders can be regenerated from Settings → General after a colour reset.

Improvements

• Groups in Collections: Entire groups can now be added to collections, not just individual files - with enhanced drag-and-drop for moving groups between collections.
• Custom Images: Upload your own images for models instead of relying only on auto-generated thumbnails or downloads.
• Virtual Machine Support: Better 3D rendering compatibility for users running Windows in VMs.
• Collection-Aware Search (v1.7.1):
  • In Collection: Shows only files that belong to at least one collection.
  • Not In Collection: Shows only files that don't belong to any collection.
• Smarter Open With (v1.7.1):
  • Caching: Installed-application detection results are cached, dramatically speeding up subsequent loads (especially on Windows).
  • Custom apps: Manually add applications Modelist doesn't auto-detect, and configure custom command-line parameters.
  • Remembers last choice: The system remembers which application you last used to open each file and uses the same one next time, even if it differs from your default.
• Zoom Controls (v1.7.1):
  • Keyboard shortcuts: Cmd/Ctrl + and Cmd/Ctrl - for zoom, using platform-appropriate modifiers.
  • Persistent zoom: Zoom level is saved and restored between sessions.
• Rendering Performance (v1.7.1):
  • Improved ZIP file rendering efficiency and speed.
  • Enhanced caching and cleanup logic for better memory usage.
