Modelist · Desktop app for makers

You've got more 3D files
than you remember.

Modelist scans the STLs, 3MFs, and unopened ZIPs already on your computer and turns them into a gallery you can search. Files stay where they are. €60 once. Yours forever.

Modelist library view

Most makers have hundreds - sometimes thousands - of 3D files spread across drives, Downloads folders, and ZIP packages you never opened. Half of them you've never even looked at. Folders don't show what's in them. Slicer libraries are tied to one slicer. Cloud platforms only know what you starred. Modelist is the layer in between.

A gallery, not a list of filenames.

STL, 3MF, OBJ - every file gets a 3D preview. 3MF embedded images and Makerworld renders show up automatically. Search by name, description, tags, or anything you've written about the model.

Look inside ZIPs without unzipping.

That ZIP full of STLs you never got around to opening? Modelist indexes the models inside. Preview them, tag them, send them to your slicer - without you ever unzipping anything yourself.

Modelist details view

Catches duplicates a file manager never will.

Three methods running together: byte-exact, similar-name-and-size, and perceptual hash - so renamed copies of the same model still match. Find the variants you forgot you'd downloaded twice.

Modelist search view

Move your files. Your tags follow.

Reorganize your folders however you want. Your tags, notes, custom thumbnails, and collections all survive. Your folder structure stays the source of truth - Modelist just keeps up.

Open in any slicer, with one click.

Bambu Studio, PrusaSlicer, OrcaSlicer, Cura, SuperSlicer. Modelist remembers which slicer you used per file - no "set default app" fights. Multiple instances of the same slicer? Also fine.

Smart Collections that update themselves.

Save a search and Modelist keeps it current as your library grows. "All Bambu files I haven't tagged yet." "STLs over 50MB." "Things I marked To Print." Build the views you care about; they stay live.

Found a cool model on your phone?

Hit the share button on any 3D model link - Printables, Makerworld, a tweet, an Instagram post - and it lands in Modelist's Inbox on your desktop. Works on iOS and Android. No emailing yourself, no copy-paste, no lost browser tabs.

No account. No cloud. No "we couldn't reach our servers." Everything happens locally. Modelist never moves, renames, or modifies your files. Stop using it tomorrow and your folders are exactly as you left them. Cloud sharing exists, opt-in, off by default.

Why not just…

…keep using folders?
Folders don't show what's in your STL files. They don't search by content. They don't catch duplicates. They lose to download-and-forget every time.
…use Bambu Studio's library?
Tied to one slicer, designed for active prep, not long-term storage. Modelist indexes everything you have - including files you never imported into Bambu Studio.
…use Manyfold?
Self-hosted Docker - fine if you run a homelab. Modelist is a desktop app you install. No server, no port forwarding, no homelab.

Every major release of Modelist, forever. All platforms. No subscription. No "Pro" tier hostage situation.

Get Lifetime - €45

Or get just v1 for €20 - every v1.x update included, no major-release upgrades.

A few honest questions.

Will Modelist modify my files?

No. It reads them to render previews and extract metadata, but it never moves, renames, or rewrites them. The only destructive action is delete, and that's a manual choice you confirm in a dialog.

Is there a subscription?

No. €20 for v1, €60 for lifetime. One-time payment. Lifetime customers get every future major release. No "Pro" tier, no upsell.

Is the app still being developed?

Yes - active development with regular releases. Lifetime customers get every future major version.

What if I stop using it?

Your files are exactly where they were. Modelist's database is metadata only - your folders on disk are the source of truth, not Modelist's.
