This release makes Modelist fit more libraries and more people. It speaks three more languages, .scad files stop being second-class citizens, and the 3D viewer finally handles the Bambu projects it used to give up on - in colour, plate by plate.
New features
- Modelist speaks your language: The interface is now available in German, Spanish, and French alongside English, and your choice follows everywhere - menus, dialogs, error messages, all of it. Pick it in Settings → General → Language.
- OpenSCAD files:
.scadfiles are now first-class members of your library.- Indexed and searchable: Found in watched folders and inside archives, listed with their own SCAD badge, and taggable, ratable, and collectable like anything else.
- Real thumbnails: With OpenSCAD installed, Modelist renders a preview of each
.scadfile. The camera matches the angle used for STL and OBJ, so a shelf of mixed formats looks consistent, and the background is transparent so cards sit properly on both themes. - Choose the colours: OpenSCAD draws with its own colour schemes rather than a single colour, so
.scadthumbnails get their own picker in General, next to the default model colour, with a regenerate button that touches only.scadfiles. - Without OpenSCAD: They are still indexed and searchable, just without a preview. Modelist tells you they are waiting, points you at the download, and renders them itself once you set the path - no rescan needed.
- Opens in the right app: A
.scadopens in OpenSCAD rather than your default slicer, which cannot read the format at all. - Edits are noticed: Change a
.scadand its thumbnail is redrawn on the next scan, instead of showing the old shape forever.
- 3MFs in the 3D viewer: The 3D preview used to give up with "not supported" on some 3MFs, Bambu Lab projects most of all. Now they open, and they open in colour.
- Printed colours, not one flat colour: The viewer reads the filament palette from the project and shows each part in the filament assigned to it, including painted regions like logos and engraved symbols.
- Browse by plate: Multi-plate projects can be stepped through one plate at a time instead of showing everything at once.
- Tips & Tricks: A strip in the status bar that expands into a drawer, showing tips relevant to whatever screen you are on. All of them stay readable in Settings & Tools → Tips & Tricks, whether or not you dismissed them.
- Duplicates on the file page: A Duplicates tab appears on a file's detail page when the last scan matched it against others, so you can see a duplicate while looking at the file instead of only inside the batch tool. The tab only exists when there is something to show, and it honours your "Keep All" dismissals.
